What A High Quality Early Childhood Program Really Looks Like

At Divine Savior Academy, we’re dedicated to giving students an excellent education by providing college-prep academics, a Christian environment, and supportive teachers, but what does a high-quality, excellent early childhood program really look like?

Well, excellent programs provide a safe, secure learning environment, and classrooms are designed with young children in mind. Clean, well-lit facilities house age-appropriate furniture and materials arranged to allow adequate supervision. Children are involved in active learning experiences and warm, positive interactions with their teachers and peers. You’ll see children given opportunities to learn and practice independence, leadership, critical thinking, and decision making. You’ll hear open-ended questions that spark further exploration and children learning how to problem solve on their own.

In addition, great programs have qualified teachers that understand young children and participate in ongoing continuing education. They work within a research-based curriculum to connect hands-on activities and play with learning to give children the knowledge and skills they need in areas like math, literacy, science, and music. They use observation to guide assessments and future instruction.

High-quality programs also seek to partner with families to meet all of a child’s developmental needs. Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher, and regular communication between parents and teachers strengthens a child’s overall learning experience.

We’d love to share with you how this all plays out at Divine Savior Academy in the context of a Christian environment at our new campus in Delray Beach, FL. To learn more about on-site tours, programs, and our philosophy…
